Several Ways to Determine the correct remote controls and keypad for your Sears Craftsman garage door opener

Determine by manufacture date:
Sears Craftsman, Master Mechanic and all other Chamberlain brand garage door openers locate your MANUFACTURE DATE to determine the correct remote control. This date is found on the control panel of the main power head hanging in the garage. Normally behind one of the light bulb covers.
1984 - 1989 61LM
1990 - 1992 61LM, 66LM
1993 - 1997 81LM, 66LM
1997 - 1999? (possibly later than this) 971LM, 972LM, 973LM, 976LM (see list below)

Determine by type of remote control you have:

If you look on your remote control for the part number, use this list to match up the old remote control part numbers with the new remote control part numbers.

Years manufactured 1984 - 1989 8-9 dip switches inside remote and RED LED (light) on front of remote.
